The Bishop’s Appeal is a critical fundraising effort in our Oakland Diocese and Newman Hall-Holy Spirit Parish. The generosity of our Catholic Community allows the diocese to continue the good work of the Church, from Faith Formation for students and adults, to funding ministry works, supporting our schools and parishes and caring for our retired priests.
We invite you to watch this message below from Bishop Michael Barber, SJ, and make a donation. Our parish goal is $39,500. It would be wonderful for Newman to fulfill our goal.
The diocese does wonderful things for us like assist with our RCIA and Confirmation rites, provide resources for faith formation, pay for 1/2 our FOCUS bill, handle our staffing human resources, and support social justice activities like the immigration legal clinic, the shelter for girls trapped in human trafficking, and outreach to refugees.
You can donate in the following ways:
Through the diocesan website: oakdiocese.org/bishops-appeal
Send a check using the Bishop's Appeal envelope which can be found on our literature rack
Electronically through our FaithDirect or VENMO accounts. Just make sure to put in the note, "Bishop's Appeal"
Send a check to Newman Hall-Holy Spirit Parish. Just make sure to address the check, "Bishop's Appeal" or to put in the note "Bishop's Appeal"oakdiocese.org/bishops-appeal
