Parish Mission

We Gather,

To hear God’s word,

To taste Jesus’ life in Eucharist,

To be a community of God’s love for one another and for all

We Are Sent,

To relish learning that enriches all lives,

To heal divisions in our church and world,

To participate in the world’s quest for justice and peace

Parish Core Values

Values that guide our decisions and how we respond to challenges.

It is from these values, that guide our decision making and how we allocate our resources and what we need to let go. As the Catholic Church in America and our parish in Berkeley undergoes societal changes around us, we will need to adapt to stay true to our mission. The Parish Council in consultation with parish worked on these values to guide us in these upcoming challenging times, as we continue to bring the Gospel to our corner of the world.

For each value, we associate the follow attributes:

1) Christ-based Community: welcoming, inclusive, joyful, alive, participatory, safe, centered on Christ & the Catholic Church

2) Growing in Faith: experiencing God's love, prayer, sacraments, quality preaching, holistic, innovative

3) Catalyst for Healing and Unity: compassion, servant leadership, empowerment, social justice

4) Ministering to Students: whole-community missionary effort, forming future leaders, empowering, mature Vatican II perspective

our foundation - The Gospels

To really know what we are about and what motivates us, read and mediate on the 4 Gospels. Everything starts, lives, and finds completion with Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
