God Evolution & The Universe: “What They Ask the Pope’s Astronomer?”
Webinar with Br. Guy Consolmagno, Ph.D., S.J,
7 to 8 pm Join here
Both Vatican officials and astronomers get asked odd questions; when you’re the Director of the Vatican Observatory, your inbox gets twice as many! Some are amusing, some are profound. We’ll talk about what people ask us, from the results of the latest space missions like Webb to questions about life in the universe, and what these questions tell us about the human condition in the 21st Century. Come with your own questions, foolish & profound!
Br. Guy Consolmagno, SJ, is a renowned astronomer and the Director Emeritus of the Vatican Observatory. He has published dozens of scientific papers and several books, exploring the relationship between science and faith. His research focuses on the links between asteroids and meteorites, and how small bodies in the solar system form and evolve. Br. Consolmagno received a PhD in planetary science from the University of Arizona, along with bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Prior to joining the Jesuit order, he served in the US Peace Corps in Kenya and was an assistant professor of physics at Lafayette College.
